Engel School of Music Studio Policy

Welcome! We look forward to working with all of you in the future, but here are a few guidelines we need to go over before we begin.

1. Eberhard's name is tough, so you have a couple of options. You can call him Eb, E-Man, or Eberhard.  Megan's name is pronounced Meee - gan.

2. All students need to come to lessons with their instrument(s) in tune (unless noted for beginners).

3. If the student is 10 minutes late for a lesson without calling, then it will be assume the lesson has been forfeited.

4. Payment is due on the FIRST lesson of the month with a monthly rate of $90.00.

5. Payment can be made with a personal check or money.

6. If a NSF check occurs, you will be billed an extra $30.00 After a second NSF check, only money and money orders will be accepted.

7. Music books are not included into the monthly charge. We do give handouts out for free when appropriate times occur in a lesson.

8a. If the payment is later then the second lesson a $10.00 late fee will be added per week.

8b. If the payment is later then a month a $100.00 late fee will be added.

9. It should be understood that the student / parent has NO opportunity for a refund of any kind once the monthly fee has been paid.

10. The STUDENT has the responsibility to notify Engel School of Music via email (Eberhard.Engel@engerlschoolofmusic.org) or my cell phone (320-815-1973), at least (24) hours in advance if he, and or she needs to cancel a lesson.

11. If the student has called within the allotted (24) hours, Engel School of Music will make it's best efforts to facilitate a time for a make-up lesson. However, a make-up time, and or lesson is not always guaranteed.

12. If the student does not call within the 24 hour deadline, Engel School of Music will deny a make-up lesson UNLESS the lesson is cancelled due to sudden personal illness, family emergency, or vehicle / weather related problems.

13. The student has 2 weeks (14 days) from the cancelled lesson date to make-up their lesson. If the student does not make up their lesson within 2 weeks, that lesson will be forfeited.

14. The student has the right to terminate their lessons at any point in time, but will not be refunded for the ‘unused’ portion of the current months payments.

15. Practice, practice methods, and musical temperament will be covered in the first lesson.

16. Students should always show up to lessons with the following: notebook and pencil, instrument with music, and the will to achieve!

If you have any other questions, thoughts, or concerns please contact the Engel School of Music.

All students are automatically entered into the contract at the start of the first lesson.
